Pepsi Truck Driver Reviews: SAFER Files, Hourly Pay

A Pepsi seat is not one mega-carrier CPM card. Careers copy sells PepsiCo Beverages North America and Frito-Lay snacks. The work on the postings is local beverage delivery you unload and merchandise — bay and convenience stops, geo/foodservice drops, vending fills — plus a SAFER name search that returns dozens of bottlers, not a single “Pepsi” USDOT. Look up the legal name on the truck before you treat a logo job board as Costco-style depot work or a Sysco restaurant unload.
Pay, home time, and online ratings move by bottler and plant. Verify current figures with that operating company, on Indeed, and on the FMCSA SAFER Company Snapshot. Rules change. Verify current requirements at fmcsa.dot.gov before you act on anything in this guide.
Pepsi safety record: what FMCSA data shows
Start with the federal file — and do not stop at the brand. People searching “Pepsi SAFER” or “Pepsi DOT number” will get a list, not a single truck. A NAME search for “PEPSI” on the Company Snapshot returns independent bottlers from Duluth to Guam: Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co of New York, Pepsi Northwest Beverages, Pepsi MidAmerica, Pepsi Cola of Indianapolis, and dozens more. If a recruiter hands you a different number, stop and open that card.
Do not mix these headquarters files with the fleet:
- PepsiCo Inc, USDOT 922535, 350 Columbus Ave, Valhalla, NY 10595, phone (914) 742-4509. Entity type: shipper. USDOT status: ACTIVE. Out-of-service date: none. Authority: not authorized. Power units: blank on the card. MCS-150 mileage: 0. U.S. inspections in the 24 months before 09/10/2026: 0. Safety rating: None. FMCSA also printed “Carrier Registration Information Outdated. Carrier VMT Outdated.” That is not the delivery fleet.
- Pepsi Logistics Company Inc, USDOT 2238616, 7701 Legacy Drive, Plano, TX 75024, phone (888) 752-4669. Entity type: broker. Authority: broker of property (except household goods) under MC-595216. Power units: 0. Inspections: 0. Rating: None. That is freight brokerage, not the bay truck.
- Pepsi Cola Bottling Group, USDOT 967904, 1 Pepsi Way, Somers, NY 10589. Entity type: shipper. Power units blank. Inspections: 0. Not the operating fleet.
A Purchase, New York, file that does list trucks: Bottling Group LLC, USDOT 966888, 700 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase, NY 10577, phone (914) 767-6000. Entity type: carrier / shipper. USDOT status: ACTIVE. Out-of-service date: none. Authority: not authorized (the card notes that line does not apply to private or intrastate operations). Operation classification: private (property), intrastate only (non-HM). Cargo checkboxes: general freight, liquids/gases, refrigerated food, beverages, paper products. MCS-150 form date 02/13/2026, mileage 638,347 for 2025. Power units: 54. Drivers: 71.
U.S. roadside inspections, 24 months before 09/10/2026 (USDOT 966888): 6 total. Vehicle 3 inspections, 0 out of service (0%). Driver 6 inspections, 1 out of service (16.7%). Hazmat 0. National averages printed on that snapshot (table dated 08/28/2026) are 22.26% vehicle, 6.67% driver, 4.44% hazmat. Vehicle sits under the printed average. Driver sits over it — on six inspections. Do not treat a 16.7% line as a fleet grade. Crashes, same window: 0 fatal, 1 injury, 2 tow, 3 total. Safety rating: None. Walk the fields with our SAFER score company lookup.
A large independent bottler — the one with real inspection volume: Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC, USDOT 148431, 4141 Park Lake Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612, phone (919) 865-2300. Entity type: carrier / shipper. USDOT status: ACTIVE. Out-of-service date: none. Authority: not authorized (private). Operation classification: private (property), interstate. Cargo: beverages. MCS-150 form date 01/30/2025, mileage 11,730,924 for 2022 (FMCSA printed “Carrier VMT Outdated”). Power units: 754. Drivers: 526.
U.S. inspections, 24 months before 09/10/2026 (USDOT 148431): 360 total. Vehicle 134 inspections, 13 out of service (9.7%). Driver 360 inspections, 0 out of service (0%). Hazmat 0. Vehicle and driver OOS both sit under the printed averages. Crashes: 1 fatal, 16 injury, 19 tow, 36 total. FMCSA counts involvement in reportable crashes without a determination of responsibility. Safety rating: Satisfactory, rating date 02/08/1989. Review date 01/12/2017, typed Non-Ratable. That stamp is decades old. It is not a 2026 audit.
Local files can look different. Two checks from the same NAME search:
- Pepsi Cola Bottling Co of New York Inc, USDOT 330753, 112-02 15th Ave, College Point, NY 11356, phone (347) 923-3646. Private (property). 161 power units / 127 drivers. MCS-150 4,826,665 miles (2024), form 07/28/2025. U.S. inspections 35; vehicle OOS 0%; driver OOS 0%; crashes 0 / 5 / 0 / 5. Rating: None.
- Pepsi Northwest Beverages LLC, USDOT 1509868, 3003 R W Johnson Blvd, Tumwater, WA 98512, phone (360) 357-9090. Entity type: carrier / shipper / broker. Authority: motor carrier of property and broker under MC-566036. 79 power units / 54 drivers. MCS-150 2,784,938 miles (2023). U.S. inspections 22; vehicle OOS 25% (over the 22.26% printed average — eight vehicle inspections); driver OOS 0%; crashes 0 / 1 / 1 / 2. Rating: None.
- Pepsi MidAmerica Company, USDOT 94237, 2605 W Main Street, Marion, IL 62959, phone (618) 998-3352. Authority: motor carrier of property under MC-340218, both authorized for-hire and private (property). 186 power units / 145 drivers. MCS-150 2,892,707 miles (2024), form 02/20/2025. U.S. inspections 95; vehicle OOS 25% (over the printed average); driver OOS 4.2% (under 6.67%); crashes 1 / 2 / 3 / 6. Rating: Satisfactory dated 09/18/2006, typed Compliance Review.
Canada on the snapshots pulled here: 0 inspections and 0 crashes in 24 months where the card printed a Canada table. Do not invent a Canadian average.
Open SAFER by the number on the door. Raleigh is not Tumwater. Purchase is not College Point. A PepsiCo careers posting that says “PepsiCo Beverages North America” still needs the USDOT on that tractor.
Who a Pepsi driver actually is
PepsiCo is a beverage and snack company that runs — and franchises — local delivery from plants and DCs (pepsicojobs.com). Headquarters sits in Purchase / Valhalla, New York. The Class A seat most “pepsi truck driver reviews” searches are about is not a 48-state dry van. It is a local delivery driver: tractor or straight truck on an established route or dynamic dispatch, manual unload, merchandising, invoices, then home most nights.
The public postings split the work the queue asked about. Do not collapse them:
- Bay / convenience CDL-A (PepsiCo Beverages North America). The Commerce, Georgia, and Soldotna, Alaska, “Local Delivery Driver - CDL A” posts describe 15–20 stops a day to convenience, gas, small supermarket, and drug stores. You drive, unload, rotate product, fill shelves, displays, vending equipment, and coolers, build displays, generate invoices, and settle cash. Cases 20–45 pounds, repeatedly. Peak seasons run long.
- Geo / foodservice delivery. The Missouri City, Texas, “Driver - Geo Delivery” post delivers to all types of customers including foodservice. Same merchandising and vending. Unload pallets with an electric pallet jack or two-wheel hand truck into a back room. Push/pull using 40–150 pounds of force, occasionally. Preferred: 2+ years CDL.
- Vending, non-CDL. PepsiCo careers listed Local Delivery Driver - Vending Product Delivery - Non CDL in Olathe, Kansas. That is not the Class A bay seat. If the posting does not require a CDL, you are not on the same SAFER file question.
- Frito-Lay OTR apprentice. The Beloit, Wisconsin, “OTR Driver Apprentice” card is PepsiCo snacks: paid CDL training, then tractor-trailer to grocery and vendor locations for Lay’s / Doritos / Cheetos. Header $100,000 annual target. That is not a Pepsi-Cola bay route.
Hiring bars on the Commerce, Soldotna, and Missouri City posts: age 21+, valid U.S. CDL with non-excepted interstate status where it applies, DOT physical, DOT road test, drug test. Conditional offer listed a background check and drug screen. Requirements change. Verify current hiring bars with the plant that would actually dispatch you.
Same private-fleet-ish genre as Walmart truck driver reviews, Costco truck driver reviews, Dollar General truck driver reviews, and Sysco truck driver reviews — different freight, different body of work, different legal names. Walmart and Costco are depot-to-warehouse rumors. Sysco is restaurant touch freight. Pepsi is beverage merchandising plus driving.
Do not confuse company PepsiCo / bottler drivers with a contractor hauling Pepsi freight. If the W-2 says another legal name, you are not on that SAFER file.
Pay: hourly beverage routes, not a CPM card
PepsiCo’s public beverage Class A listings paid by the hour. The figures below are from public Indeed cards and salary pages when this article was researched. Rates change by bottler, union status, tenure, route type (bay vs geo vs bulk vs vending), and overtime. Verify current pay for your role — training rate, full rate, component or commission if any, a slow-week example, and whether the seat is PepsiCo, an independent bottler, or Frito-Lay — in writing.
- Commerce, Georgia, Local Delivery Driver - CDL A (Indeed listing): $30.40 an hour. PepsiCo Beverages North America, 516 Pepsico Way. Day shift. 15–20 stop convenience/gas copy.
- Soldotna, Alaska, Local Delivery Driver - CDL A (Indeed listing): $35.20 an hour. Same bay/convenience copy.
- Ellijay, Georgia, Local Delivery Driver - CDL A (Indeed card): $29.40 an hour.
- Missouri City, Texas, Driver - Geo Delivery (Indeed listing): $33 an hour. Foodservice plus store merchandising.
- Ocala, Florida, Driver - Geo Delivery (Indeed card): $29.05 an hour.
- Wharton, Texas, Driver - Geo Delivery (Indeed card): $33.15 an hour.
- West Jordan, Utah, Local Driver (Indeed card): $34 an hour.
- New Castle, Colorado, Delivery Driver (Indeed card): $34 an hour.
- Lubbock, Texas, Delivery Driver (Indeed card): $30.55 an hour.
- Beloit, Wisconsin, OTR Driver Apprentice (Indeed listing): $100,000 annual target, 5–6 days, Frito-Lay training seat — not the beverage bay rate.
- Indeed salary page for “Truck Driver” at PepsiCo: $25.68 an hour from 23 postings, displayed low $13.00 / high $39.45, last updated 08/21/2026. Tractor trailer driver $27.93 (11 salaries). Transport driver $32.57 (8). Delivery driver $25.88 (3). Local driver $22.01 (9). The jobs-page estimate next to the Truck Driver filter sat at $26.00 an hour. Treat those as mixed recruiting math, not a guaranteed W-2.
There is no public CPM card on the beverage posts pulled here. The product is hours + stops + merchandising. If the warehouse wraps pallets poorly, a store cannot take freight, or summer volume spikes, the day stretches and the body takes it. A Mesquite, Texas, Truck Driver Class A title (06/19/2026) described component pay and stocking freezers. A Greenwood, South Carolina, Delivery Truck Driver title (08/21/2026) said the plant no longer guaranteed 40 hours after a restructuring. Verify current pay for your plant — including whether OT still exists.
What drivers actually say — including why people quit
Public review pages are not a verdict, and PepsiCo’s company-wide stars are not the fleet. Indeed’s PepsiCo page filtered to Truck Driver, updated 08/28/2026, listed 431 truck-driver write-ups. The 3.7 out of 5 headline on that scrape sat on 21,529 company-wide reviews — warehouse, sales, and office mixed in. Do not quote 21,000 stars as driver sentiment. The jobs page next to that filter printed a 3.1 rating from 431 ratings for the Truck Driver title. Indeed’s Delivery Driver filter, updated 09/10/2026, listed 535 write-ups. Indeed’s likes on those pages: ability to learn, fair pay, meeting personal goals. Area flagged: trust in colleagues.
The stay-or-quit split on driver-titled write-ups matches the work on the postings — this is physically heavy merchandising, and that is why it is not a no-touch local:
- Home nightly, benefits, and a paycheck you can live on if you work are why people stay. Recurring notes: hourly plus overtime where it still exists, pension on top of 401(k) in some plants, staying in shape because you walk cases, union shops in some cities. Titles include “Great place to work,” “Do your work and go home,” “Good Monday & home evryday,” “Good if u have no cdl experience.” An Orlando CDL Class A title (08/01/2025) said you stock the product, not just bump docks, and named pension plus 401(k) match. A Roanoke Truck Driver title (08/16/2026) called managers fair, work consistent, and days physical.
- The body, merchandising, component pay, and plant management are why people leave or tell others to run. A Beaumont, Texas, Truck Driver Class A title (05/23/2026) put it as about 90 percent merchandising, 10 percent driving, including dollar-store stocking and credits back to the plant. A Mesquite Class A title (06/19/2026) called component pay a rush against dropped pallets and freezer stocking. Delivery Driver titles include “Would not recommend,” “Years wasted,” “Terrible Culture,” “Poor pay. Just really poor pay for a class a truck driver,” “Slave job.” A Greenwood Delivery Truck Driver title (08/21/2026) said 40 hours were no longer guaranteed. A Philadelphia Truck Driver title (08/28/2026) described a union shop where seniority still made days off hard — one plant, not a national contract.
- Bulk, bay, and vending are not interchangeable. An Orlando Bulk Delivery Driver title (12/07/2025) stayed for driving and customers and still flagged fallen pallets. Geo Delivery write-ups talk touch freight and emptying the truck. Careers still posts non-CDL vending. Ask which route board you are on.
- Plants are not interchangeable. Mesquite, Greenwood, College Point, Soldotna, and a Frito-Lay Beloit apprentice are different employers on paper even when the logo matches. Ask which legal name is hiring.
Drug tests: interstate CDL work is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing; a refusal or verified positive is a federal issue, not a plant-policy rumor — see fmcsa.dot.gov. Commerce, Soldotna, and Missouri City postings listed a required drug test and a DOT physical. Do not invent a Pepsi-specific panel, wait time, or fail rate. Ask recruiting what they run after a conditional offer.

Who a Pepsi seat fits — and how to vet it
A Pepsi beverage seat tends to fit a CDL driver who will live near a plant or bottler DC, accept multi-stop merchandising, and unload cases by hand in weather for hourly pay — and who wants nights at home more than no-touch miles. Bulk, bay, geo, and vending are different bodies of work. Frito-Lay OTR training is a different brand inside the same parent. Ask which legal name is on the truck.
Look elsewhere if you will not merchandise, you need drop-and-hook only, you will not work early or long summer days, you will not live near the plant, or you will not re-open SAFER the week you would start. Compare other files in our trucking company reviews hub rather than picking a soda logo.
- Confirm the legal name and USDOT. The door might say Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co of New York, Pepsi MidAmerica, Bottling Group LLC — not 922535, and not 2238616. Match the W-2 to the card.
- Re-open the SAFER snapshot the week you would start. Authority, vehicle OOS, driver OOS, crashes, and the rating date. Use the SAFER lookup walkthrough.
- Get pay in writing. Hourly vs component, OT rules, a 40-hour week versus a slow week, union or seniority if any, and whether the seat is bay, geo, bulk, vending, or Frito-Lay.
- Name the work. Convenience multi-stop with shelf and vending fills is not a foodservice geo pallet, and neither is a non-CDL vending van.
- Cross-check people, not just the brand. Indeed’s truck-driver and delivery-driver filters, and a carrier search on cdlscan. cdlscan is two-sided — carriers review drivers, and you can research the house — and search does not require buying a full report. It will not replace SAFER or the offer letter.
If you have already run for a Pepsi operating company or bottler, add a review on cdlscan so the next applicant is not guessing from a beverage careers page. Search is free; a full report is paid. Neither one replaces looking up the USDOT on the truck.
Frequently asked questions
Is Pepsi a good company to drive for?
It depends whether you want local beverage merchandising with hand unloads, hourly pay, and home nightly — and whether that plant actually loads and dispatches. USDOT 148431 shows active private authority, a 1989 Satisfactory rating, and vehicle out-of-service under the national average printed on that snapshot. Local files can sit over that average. Indeed’s truck-driver filter is 431 write-ups, not the 21,000-review company score. Verify current pay and hours for your plant.
What is Pepsi’s USDOT number?
There is not one. Headquarters PepsiCo Inc is USDOT 922535, a shipper with no trucks on the card. Pepsi Logistics 2238616 is a broker. Your door may be Pepsi Bottling Ventures (148431), Bottling Group LLC (966888), Pepsi Cola Bottling Co of New York (330753), Pepsi Northwest Beverages (1509868), Pepsi MidAmerica (94237), or another bottler. Confirm the number on the truck.
How much do Pepsi truck drivers make?
Public beverage Class A cards were hourly: Commerce $30.40, Missouri City geo $33, Soldotna $35.20, West Jordan $34, Ocala $29.05. Indeed’s truck-driver salary page averaged $25.68 an hour from 23 postings. A Beloit Frito-Lay apprentice card listed a $100,000 annual target. Rates change; get the current package in writing for your role.
Do Pepsi drivers unload the truck?
Yes on the public CDL-A copy. Local posts say unload, merchandise shelves, displays, vending, and coolers, with cases 20–45 pounds. Geo posts add pallet jacks into back rooms. That physical work is the main quit theme on Indeed. Ask whether your lane is bay, geo, bulk, or vending.
Does Pepsi hire new CDL drivers?
Some Indeed titles called it entry-level CDL experience. The Beloit Frito-Lay apprentice is paid training for candidates with little Class A time — snacks, not a cola bay route. Geo delivery preferred two-plus years. Verify current hiring bars with the plant.
Why do Pepsi truck drivers quit?
Public titles cluster on merchandising labor, component pay, long summer days, dropped pallets, plant management, and pay that does not match the body of work after a slow week. Some drivers stay for nights at home, benefits, and union seniority where it exists. It is not a court finding.
Does Pepsi drug test truck drivers?
CDL interstate drivers are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. Commerce, Soldotna, and Missouri City postings listed a required drug test and a DOT physical. Ask recruiting what they require after a conditional offer. Do not invent a panel.
Is Pepsi a private fleet?
Many bottler cards are private (property) with no for-hire MC number. Some, including Pepsi Northwest Beverages and Pepsi MidAmerica, also show for-hire authority. Headquarters 922535 is a shipper. Read the card for the legal name on your offer, not the marketing headline.
How do I look up Pepsi on SAFER?
Search the brand and you will get dozens of names. Open FMCSA’s Company Snapshot for the USDOT on the truck — or start with 148431 for Pepsi Bottling Ventures in Raleigh and then find your local bottler. Read authority, inspections, crashes, and the rating date.
